This stunning gold rutiled quartz chunky cocktail ring is inspired by walks on the beach and picking up unusual pieces of seaglass. It was made in my garden studio in Tayport where I’m surrounded by plants, trees, the birds and the bees, nature is a major influence in my art jewellery, and try to echo textures from nature in my work. I love gemstones with natural inclusions as they have character and hidden depth within them.
The gorgeous semi-precious, natural gemstone is a gold rutiled quartz, which has gold rutiles through the stone, each piece is totally unique and one of a kind. This particular stone is 2cmm x 1.1cm x 6mm deep rectangle / emerald cut baguette, so it is a large statement piece which sparkles when it catches the light. I have designed this 4 silver wire claw setting and handmade it specifically for this stone, which is balancing in between the two sides of the ring shank. I don’t like to cover up the stones, but set them to look like they are floating, so you can see the full detail and beauty of this stunning rare gemstone. It has a chunky 1.5cm wide silver band at the top, which tappers thinner to 1cm wide band at the bottom. One side is matt finished and the other is polished. The inside of the band is smooth and comfy to wear and is polished finish with no texture.
It is a one of a kind piece and will make a beautiful statement for an awards dinner or other glamourous occasion. Current size sits on the mandrel in the middle as a P, but reaches to the O and Q as the band is wide. The ring shank itself is a open pear drop shape at the top so it may fit many sized fingers. I have textured the shank creating lines to reflect the rutile detail within the gemstone.
Comes in a luxurious eco gift box so no need for wrapping. I can also provide a branded gift bag if you are giving the piece to a loved one. Each piece is carefully packaged in recycled bubble wrap envelopes and posted by secured and insured special delivery, or you can select pick up if you live locally.
