I’ve not written for a while as we had some heartbreaking news. We lost our baby body at 34 weeks. Just over 2 months on, I’m still in shock. Everything feels so surreal now that I’m trying to get used to this new normal.
They say art is a healer which helps with grief and trauma. I’m trying to be kind to myself and not force myself to be creative. I’m taking it one day at a time. When I feel like going into the studio, I go in. One thing that I’m doing is allowing myself to make the creative jewellery that I’ve been wanting to make for a while which means focusing on making new statement pieces for Pittenweem Arts Festival. Like this stunning Beryl, set in 9ct gold, with a silver adjustable band. This ring is a one off piece.
The festival has been off for 2 years due to covid and the days have changed slightly this year. It is on between
Saturday 6th and Saturday 13th August
(so missing the last Sunday). Save the dates and share with your friends.
I’m also exhibiting in a different venue :
34 Abbeywall Road, down at the harbour in Pittenweem. We’re in venue 71
and will be sharing with a fellow potter Fran Marquis, so do come and visit us. Head to the Pittenweem Arts Festival website for details of our venue and other exhibitors.
